A Better 1993′s Model: The 1994 Ferrari 348 Spider Base

In 1994 Ferrari released the 348 Spider Base to the car-buying market. The 348 Spider came in one configurations: Base. The Base configuration is powered by the 3.4-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 17 city. The 348 Spider competes in the Convertible market segment, in direct competition with Toyota.

Performance

The 348 Spider Base is equipped with a Ferrari 3.4 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari 5-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ferrari.

The 348 Spider uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a manual-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 1994 348 Spider is a traditional Bosch Motronic, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

The 1994 model year was very successful for the Ferrari 348 Spider. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
