A Better 1996′s Model: The 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT

There's been a lot of talk about the Lamborghini Diablo for 1997. As a leading car in the coupe market the Diablo (and in this case specically the VT version) has maintained a high standard. The 2-door Diablo is especially appealing to broad audience, making it a perfect car to help Lamborghini as a brand in general.

1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Specs

The restyled Diablo VT is equipped with a 5.7-liter twelve -cylinder engine that utilizes 48 valves. The engine is mated to a Lamborghini five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1996 version.

The Diablo uses power-assisted brakes, with Non-ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a manual-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 1997 Diablo is a Lamborghini LIE system, running on gasoline . The fuel is regulated by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.

The Diablo is inches long, inches wide, and inches high. It has a wheelbase of inches. It is able to seat several adults comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Diablo is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the coupe market.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was an industry-high price when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-low price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

MPG Ratings

The Diablo VT received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty three when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.

In 1996 and 1997 the Diablo VT was availble in the exterior colors of several colors.

What We Think of the Lamborghini Diablo

The 1997 model year was very successful for the Lamborghini Diablo. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the VT version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
