Insight Into the Maserati Coupe for 2004

Maserati Coupe

The restyled Coupe GT is equipped with a 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Getrag six-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2003 version.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Coupe comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The Coupe is 178.10 inches long, 71.70 inches wide, and 51.40 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.70 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

There is a 50,000 mile, 48 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 50,000/48 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

The listed retail price in 2004 (MSRP) was $85,174, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price is on target the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2004 Coupe is a Bosch Motronic design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 23.20 gallons.

The 2004 Coupe gets 17 miles/gallon on the highway and only 11 in the city. This is subpar for a coupe car.

We Think...

The 2003 model began the promise of the Maserati Coupe. The 2004 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Maserati hopes that the Coupe GT will continue to be a profitable vehicle.

God, I need to sell my Coupe. Nissan makes a cheaper coupe that I’m looking at.

  2. Man, I disagree with the OP about the Coupe. My father had similar experiences. Thanks for the post!

I’m liking Hyundai over Maserati. It think it’s the difference in reliability. My first Coupe worked quite well, but the second one (a GT BTW) didn’t fare so well…
