In 2008 Maserati released the Quattroporte Base to the car-buying market. The Quattroporte came in three configurations: Base, Executive GT, Sport GT, and Sport GT S. The Base configuration is powered by the 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 17 city. The Quattroporte competes in the Sedan market segment, in direct competition with Honda.

Maserati Quattroporte Engine Specs

The Quattroporte Base is equipped with a Maserati/Ferrari 4.2 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari 6-speed Transaxle. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Sedan arena.

The fuel system for the 2008 Quattroporte is a traditional Bosch ME-7.3.2, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 12 gallons.

The 2008 model year was telling year for the Maserati Quattroporte. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..
