The Maserati Quattroporte Base for 2004: Improving on 2003

A high point in the sedan market is the Maserati Quattroporte. In 2004 Maserati released an upgraded version of the Quattroporte with one versions: Base. Sales for the Quattroporte, especially the Quattroporte Base, were brisk during 2004 and 2005. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the sales boost.

Maserati Quattroporte Engine Specs

Standard equipment in the Quattroporte for 2003 and 2004 includes the 4.2 liter engine by Maserati/Ferrari, weighing in at 8 cylinders and thirty two valves. A 6-speed Standard Transaxle puts the power of the engine to the pavement. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Sedan arena.

The fuel system for the 2004 Quattroporte is a traditional Bosch ME-7, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 23.20 gallons.

The Quattroporte uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

Vehicle Statistics

The Quattroporte is 178.10 inches long, 71.70 inches wide, and 51.40 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 104.70 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $85,174 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-average price. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.

There is a 50,000 mile, 48 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 50,000/48 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

Fuel Efficiency

The Quattroporte Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of eleven in-city driving and seventeen when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was exceptional.

What We Think of the Maserati Quattroporte

The 2004 model year was telling year for the Maserati Quattroporte. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the Base version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
