First Impressions of the Ferrari F355 GTS for 1997
One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Ferrari F355 GTS. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the F355 GTS with one versions: Base. Sales for the F355 GTS, especially the F355 GTS Base, were brisk during 1997 and 1998. The improved vehicle quality and the classic styling were responsible for the boost in sales.
Performance
The F355 GTS Base is equipped with a Ferrari 3.5 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 40 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari 6-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ferrari.
The F355 GTS uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.
