Not Your Father’s F40 – The 1991 Ferrari F40 Base

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Ferrari F40. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the F40 with one versions: Base. Sales for the F40, especially the F40 Base, were brisk during 1991 and 1992. The improved vehicle quality and the modern styling were responsible for the boost in sales.

Performance

The restyled F40 Base is equipped with a Ferrari 2.9-liter 8-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 32 valves. The engine is paired with a Ferrari 5-speed transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ferrari.
