The 2005 Maserati Spyder GT was introduced to compete in the convertible market. The GT is a member of a series of two trim levels for the Spyder which include Cambiocorsa and GT. The two-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Maserati. There is strong competition from vehicles from Infiniti.

The Ferrari 360 Spider for 2005: Improving on 2004

The restyled 360 Spider is equipped with a 3.6-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 40 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari six-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2004 version.
