The F430 Base is equipped with a Ferrari 4.3 liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 32 valves. The engine is mated to a Ferrari 6-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Ferrari.
There have been several award-winning cars from Ferrari over the years, including the Ferrari F430 of 2006. There are two trim levels to the F430, including Base and Spider. The Spider version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2005 the popular 4.3 liter has made this a popular choice for convertible buyers nationwide.
The 2006 612 Scaglietti is an important vehicle to Ferrari for the coupe market segment. The Base is a member of a series of one trim levels for the 612 Scaglietti which include Base. The two-door car with its rear-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Ferrari. There is strong competition from vehicles from Lexus.
A lot has been said about the Maserati GranSport for 2006. As Maserati's entry in the coupe market the GranSport (and in this case specically the Base version) has maintained a solid reputation. The 2-door GranSport is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect car to help Maserati as a brand in general.
