In 2008 Maserati released the Quattroporte Executive GT to the car-buying market. The Quattroporte came in three configurations: Base, Executive GT, Sport GT, and Sport GT S. The Executive GT configuration is powered by the 4.2-liter eight-cylinder engine, which makes 23 highway miles and 17 city. The Quattroporte competes in the Sedan market segment, in direct competition with Honda.

A high point in the sedan market is the Maserati Quattroporte. In 2006 Maserati rolled out an upgraded version of the Quattroporte with two versions: Sport GT and Executive GT. Sales for the Quattroporte, especially the Quattroporte Executive GT, were brisk during 2006 and 2007. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.
